Weekly Plant Guardians

Help care for our plants at projects around town. Activities include mulching urban trees in the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, watering new trees, removing invasive plants, maintaining the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, planting new trees, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.

We highly recommend that volunteers wear long pants and long sleeves. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed, snacks as needed (though a meal or snack before the project is recommended), and drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.

You may choose from from the following shifts:

Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum Walking Tour – Eastside

Arboretum – (n) ar.bo.re.tum- a botanical garden focused on woody plants, which are grown for research, education and display.

Come walk the Atlanta BeltLine with an expertly trained Trees Atlanta docent! During the approximately 1 mile tour, attendees will learn about the Atlanta BeltLine including design and history, the horticultural collections of the Arboretum, and experience first-hand the positive changes the project is having on Atlanta’s communities.

A walking tour is the best way to see the progress and be active at the same time!
