Help care for our plants at projects around town. Activities include mulching urban trees in the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, watering new trees, removing invasive plants, maintaining the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, planting new trees, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.
We highly recommend that volunteers wear long pants and long sleeves. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed, snacks as needed (though a meal or snack before the project is recommended), and drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.
You may choose from from the following shifts:
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
The Thirsty Roots Reading Group is a free reading club designed for young children (ages 2-7) to learn about our natural environment through nature themed book readings and projects. Each session will begin with a reading by a Trees Atlanta volunteer and then followed by a hands-on activity that each child can complete with their guardian at the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse.
