Weekly Plant Guardians

Help care for our plants at projects around town. Activities include mulching urban trees in the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, watering new trees, removing invasive plants, maintaining the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, planting new trees, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.

We highly recommend that volunteers wear long pants and long sleeves. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed, snacks as needed (though a meal or snack before the project is recommended), and drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.

You may choose from from the following shifts:

Atlanta’s Pristine Forests Hike: Cascade Springs

Cascade Springs Nature Preserve is one of Atlanta’s lesser known parks and once the home of a spa and healing springs used for bottled water. Within this beautiful forested area we’ll see champion trees, a waterfall, the remains of a former nature resort, springhouse, and Civil War-era entrenchments from the Battle of Utoy Creek. Join Trees Atlanta for a hiking tour of Cascade Springs Nature Preserve in conjunction with the Atlanta Preservation Center’s Phoenix Flies 2017, a celebration of Atlanta’s historic sites.
