Weekly Plant Guardians

Help care for our plants at projects around town. Activities include mulching urban trees in the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, watering new trees, removing invasive plants, maintaining the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, planting new trees, and other outdoor maintenance tasks.

We highly recommend that volunteers wear long pants and long sleeves. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty, sunscreen and bug spray as needed, snacks as needed (though a meal or snack before the project is recommended), and drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.

You may choose from from the following shifts:
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Speaker Series: Plants for Wildlife in the Urban Forest

This Speaker Series presentation will be led by long-time Trees Atlanta volunteer, Teri Nye. Teri holds Master of Landscape Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees. Teri is also an accomplished botanical illustrator. Learn which grasses, wildflowers, and tree-friendly vines support our urban wildlife by providing food, shelter and a place to raise their young.

The plants discussed during this presentation will be available for sale at Trees Atlanta’s 5th Annual Native Wildflower and Vine Sale on Saturday, April 1st. This event is free and open to the public, but please register to help us manage capacity.

Special thanks to the City of Atlanta for supporting the Speaker Series programs.
