2019 Docent Training
Are you interested in learning about Atlanta’s unique neighborhoods and greenspaces? Would you like free training from Trees Atlanta’s top instructors to become an Certified Expert Volunteer? Maybe you’re an environmental advocate, an Atlanta history buff, a bird nerd, or a public art enthusiast and would like to share your passion with the public. You can do all of this and more as a docent by leading Trees Atlanta walking tours.
In our Free Docent Training Program, participants complete extensive training in a range of skills from tree identification and forest ecology to interpretive tour leadership and public speaking. Explore the Atlanta BeltLine, surrounding neighborhoods and hidden-gem pockets of Atlanta’s diverse urban forest.
No background in horticulture, botany, or gardening is required. We will teach you all you need and want to know about the trees, then we encourage you to bring your personal talents, expertise, and interests into the mix to curate customized tours of your own. Train with us this coming winter 2019 season and join the Trees Atlanta family of Certified Expert Volunteers!
Docent Training is held for 6 consecutive Saturdays:
