Get your hiking shoes on and join us as we explore Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, one of Atlanta’s lesser known parks. This pristine forest features 140 acres of greenspace, and at 94% canopy coverage it is the City of Atlanta’s most densely wooded park, and features a number of exceptional trees. Cascade Springs is at the confluence of Turkeyfoot Creek and Utoy Creek, and was once the home of a spa and healing springs used for bottled water. Within this beautiful forested area we’ll see a waterfall as well as the remains of a former nature resort, springhouse, and Civil War-era entrenchments from the Battle of Utoy Creek.

Special thanks to the City of Atlanta for help supporting the Trees Atlanta tree tours!
