Atlanta artist, Edie Morton, specializes in the ancient method of hot wax painting, known as encaustic painting. Edie’s “creative process is influenced by Asian and Native American cultures, with a reverence for the natural world.” Edie will host an open house to showcase some of her newest artwork, a collection entitled Sacred Pollinators, in the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse, while providing a hands-on demonstration of the basic techniques involved in her craft.

Joining Edie will be Master Beekeeper, Keif Schleifer, who is also an Atlanta artist. Among others, Keif helps care the hives in the Carter Center’s pollinator garden.

Schedule:
Encaustic demonstration – 12:15 PM
Urban Bees presentation – 1:00 PM

This program is free and open to the public and a great experience for all ages.
