Save Your Ash Workshop
Did you know that our gorgeous, native green ash trees are under attack? An invasive species, the Emerald ash borer has made its way to Georgia and is already wreaking havoc on this important riparian species. But it’s not too late to save some of our ashes!
Our newest intern, Maxwell, is recruiting an army of volunteers and interested citizens to help him properly identify and classify ash trees all over the city. He’ll be teaching volunteers and homeowners about the impending threat, how to identify ash trees, how to recognize symptoms of infected trees, and how to report them. He hopes that, with the help of the public, we can accumulate an ash census that will help us prepare to defend them from the EAB.
Join Maxwell to learn more about saving your ash. Both volunteers who would like to help identify trees and citizens who are curious about the issue are welcome to attend.
