Speaker Series: Saving Briarlake Forest
This event has passed.
In 2014, the 21-acre greenspace now known as Briarlake Community Forest was destined to be cut down. However, thanks to the bold efforts of a group of citizens who until recently were strangers, the old growth trees of this wooded area are still standing today.
Richard Marion, President of the Briarlake Community Forest Alliance, will share the inspiring story of how Briarlake Forest was saved — demonstrating that regular people can make a significant impact on the protection of metro Atlanta’s urban canopy. Today, Briarlake Forest stands as a community resource, and valued amenity preserved for future generations.
– Doors open at 6:00pm for light refreshments and networking
– Program is free with registration
