Spring is here, and all our feathered friends are coming out to enjoy the incredible weather with us. Join Trees Atlanta and avid bird watcher, Jason Ward, on a mission to identify some of Atlanta’s most common birds!

We’ll explore the Northside section of the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, home to hawks, herons, kingfishers, cardinals, bluebirds, blue jays, sparrows and more. You’ll learn how to identify and enjoy these beautiful creatures that call our City in the Forest home.

Jason Ward is a birder, writer for the National Audubon Society, and an educator at Zoo Atlanta. Born and raised in The Bronx, NYC, his love for wildlife began at a young age when he fell in love with dinosaurs. Now, he gets to share his love for modern-day dinosaurs with the public during his monthly bird walks at Piedmont Park. Jason’s mission is to change the way the public views wildlife, and blaze a trail for children in underserved communities.
